VPS or Dedicated - How to log in in to WHM

Summary

To log in to WHM you will need to have first created a Root password. This article will explain how to set the Root password and then how to log in to WHM.

Setting your Root password

  1. Log in to your Just Host control panel.
  2. Click Server from the side menu to the left.
  3. Navigate to the Access Management tab.
  4. Fill out the boxes by entering a new root password.
  5. Re-enter the new root password.
  6. Click the Update button once done.

    The root account is the user with read-and-write privileges to all files and folders on your server. Ensure that this password can not easily be guessed and is not a password used for other accounts.

Legacy

  1. Log in to your Just Host Control Panel.
  2. Click the performance Quicklink.
  3. Locate the Access Management - root section.
  4. Enter a new root password.

    The root account is the user with read and write privileges to all files and folders on your server. Make sure that this password can not easily be guessed and is not a password used for other accounts.

Logging in to WHM

The root password must be set before you can log in to WHM.

Normally if your domain is already pointed at and resolving to Just Host name servers and the server IP, you can log in at the following URL

http://insertdomain.name/whm

If that doesn't work, you'll need to know your server's IP address.

Before you begin, please log in to your Just Host control panel.

  1. Click the Advanced tab from the side navigation menu to the left.
  2. From the left side, navigate to the General Information section to locate your Shared IP Address.

That is your server's IP; with your server IP, you can log in to the WHM at either of the following URL's:

http://your.server.ip:2086
https://your.server.ip:2087 (For SSL log in)

No matter which URL you use to access the WHM log in screen, you must use the following credentials:

Username: root
Password: Your newly created root password

Legacy

  1. Log into your cPanel.
  2. On the far right of the menu bar, click on Manage IPs.
  3. Look under the "Type" column for "Primary Server." That is your server's IP.
  4. With your server IP, you can log in to the WHM at either of the following URLs:
    http://your.server.ip:2086
    https://your.server.ip:2087 (For SSL log in)

    No matter which URL you use to access the WHM log in screen, you must use the following credentials:


      Username: root
      Password: Your newly created root password
