Publishing with iWeb 09

Summary

iWeb is Apple's WYSIWYG website builder. While originally designed to with MobileMe Apple has added the ability to publish your site using FTP, meaning you can publish your site directly to your Just Host hosting account.

Publish to a Folder

  1. Click the Site Name (on the left hand side of iWeb)

  2. iWeb Site

  3. Under "Publish to:", choose local Folder

  4. iWeb Local Folder

  5. Choose the folder where you will publish your site (Default would be the Sites folder.)

  6. iWeb Local Folder

  7. From File choose "Publish Entire Site"

  8. iWeb Publish Entire Site

  1. Open your preferred FTP Client (CyberDuck is being used in this example)

  2. Click Open Connection

  3. Enter your domain name for the Server

  4. Enter your cPanel Username

  5. Enter your cPanel Password

  6. Expand More Options

  7. Enter the Path of public_html, or public_html/addon for the addon domain

  8. Click Connect

  9. Drag the files located within your website's folder into CyberDuck

Publish via FTP

  1. Click the Site Name (on the left hand side of iWeb)


  2. iWeb Site

  3. Choose FTP Server

  4. iWeb FTP Server

  5. Enter the Contact email address
  6. Enter the Server address

  7. iWeb Server

  8. Enter the cPanel User name

  9. iWeb User name

  10. Enter the cPanel Password

  11. iWeb Password

  12. Enter public_html for the main site, or public_html/addon for the add-on domain

  13. iWeb Path

  14. Choose FTP as the Protocol

  15. iWeb Protocol

  16. Enter the domain name for the Website URL
  17. From File choose "Publish Entire Site"

  18. iWeb Publish Entire Site
